The children were sleeping in the crib as I was strapped with a baby to my back. Ha! The home was beginning to appear nice, however there were a few things to be done. For furnishing the space, it was going to be an enormous undertaking both in time and money. I would also have to go out and shop for my most-loved items. In order to keep my budget in good shape, I went out with my 3 boys looking for bargains in estate sales. Our weekly routine was to walk from Thursday through Saturday through garage sales, buying vintage and modern pieces, and then I would spend weekends painting and sanding the driveway. My first impression was similar to... that's when my passion to restore furniture was born. I continued to restore furniture, even after having decorated our house. On the streets, I rented a small space, and also sold objects. In the end, I accumulated more items that I could decide about and had outgrown the space. In my own home, I began hosting open houses where more than 1000 guests could visit and buy any item they wanted from the first floor over the course of a weekend. Growing Days is the result of all this. Growing Days wasn't just a thriving business but also my sweet family. In a way, I found the ideal equilibrium between motherhood and starting my new business. Growing Days just seemed to fit. Nora, my 4th kid was born in the year 2013. This was a fantastic direction for my company, however, I needed an escape. I decided to take some time off from my vintage furniture and stay at home with the kids. It was exactly what I needed at the time. After a couple of months, the phone began to begin to. Numerous people reached me seeking advice regarding home improvements and decor. The majority of them were those who had walked through my house during open house for furniture! After that, I gradually took on new clients according to my own pace. Soon I had multiple clients and I was running as a home improvement business. Most likely, I'd have laughed had somebody had informed me that my company was to become the basis for an upcoming tv program that airs on the DIY Network. In fact, I do smile when I think about the idea.
