Audrey Tautou

Audrey Tautou was born in Beaumont in Puy-de-Domme France on August 9, 1976. She is the eldest of four children. Her parents a dental surgeon along with a teacher, recognized and supported her love of theater and acting as early as she was a child. This superseded an initial desire to become a primatologist thanks to her passion for monkeys. The rise of her as a young actress was swift and marked by a rapid rise to fame. When she graduated in 1998, her education, she was able to take part in Jeunes Premiers which is an French television talent-scouting program that was sponsored by Canal+. She also was awarded the top Young Actress award at Beziers Festival of Young Actors. This led her to begin her professional acting career. Tautou attended The Institut Catholique de Paris, in addition to attending church as she was a child. She has since removed herself from this history. She claims that she's not officially Catholic. Neben her acting, Tautou took up modeling and was the spokesperson for L'Oreal Mont Blanc as well as Chanel. She also has a serious interest in photography and recently put on an exhibit of work at the Arles Festival under the title Superficial. Her photography is focused on celebrities, fame and the public that scrutinised her since her fame-making debut with Amelie. Also, she has a number of photographs featuring herself. Audrey Tautou shot to stardom and international fame when she landed her first big role, starring as the lead in Le Fabuleux Destiny d'Amelie. Amelie was a box office success, and received accolades in award ceremonies all over the globe. Amelie is among the top-performing French-language film in the US. Following this success Tautou starred in many films from British dramatics such as Stephen Knight's Dirty Pretty Things to Jean-Pierre Jeunet's long-distance Sunday of fiancailles. She then moved to Hollywood with Ron Howard's direction of the Dan Brown bestseller The Da Vinci Code along with Tom Hanks.
